LibMed is a blog dedicated to the study of medieval Libya. It gathers a team of scholars from different academic institutions. The site will promote a larger project initiated by two French researchers, Sébastien Garnier and Aurélien Montel, who aim at proposing new perspectives in the exploration of the millenium that stretches from the Futūḥāt (1st/7th c.) to the establishment of the Ottomans (10th/16th c.). It involves scientific exchanges: seminars and conferences; proceedings and collaborative publications; databases and cataloguing. Sources are revisited through the edition of exhumed texts and the reappraisal of extant documentation.
