AnthroDesires provides a platform for discussing research and issues of gender and sexualities in the field of social and cultural anthropology. It is issued by the "Gender and Sexualities | Queer Anthropology” working group within the German Anthropological Association. We hope to reach queer/feminist activists and scholars from varied academic backgrounds and encourage students and early career scholars to contribute to and engage with our blog. AnthroDesires aims at making anthropological research on gender and sexualities accessible to a broader public. It is envisaged as a multimedia brainstorming space for sharing ideas, commentaries on the politics of the day and current debates in Queer and Feminist Anthropology. We are driven by a desire for anthropology, feminist and queer theory, but also wonder what it means to insert desire as an embodied mode of being into transdisciplinary knowledge-making.
